4 Special-Needs Kids Die When Truck Crashes Into School Bus

A school bus collided with two dump trucks in a horrific truck/bus crash, killing four young special-needs students on board and personally injuring the bus driver. The children, ages 5 through 10, all attended schools that catered to their special needs. The bus driver was flown to a hospital where she was in serious condition with personal injuries. The two truck drivers did not have personal injuries. The truck/bus accident was caused by a motor scooter driver stopping in front of a dump truck in order to turn into a driveway. The dump truck braked and veered into the oncoming lanes, where it clipped the left rear portion of the bus. The 15-passenger bus then flipped onto its side and slid into the path of a second dump truck, which struck the roof of the bus. The bus then slid into a ditch with its front end and roof crushed. The four victims were all wearing seat belts or sitting in a child safety seat, but the impact was too severe for the restraints to save the children. As an ongoing investigation continues, no lawsuits have been filed. To read the full story, click here.
