Truck accident sends three victims to the hospital

A collision yesterday between a pair of pickup trucks resulted with three truck accident victims being sent to the hospital. One passenger suffered back and neck pain. Luckily, all injuries were seemingly non-life threatening injuries.

Eight People Personally Injured in Ambulance Crash

Eight people, two of them paramedics, were personally injured in a four-vehicle collision on the Far South Side of Chicago that included the paramedics’ ambulance. All the victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening personal injuries. The car crash happened at West 103rd and South Morgan Streets in the Washington Heights neighborhood. The ambulance was en route to an emergency call with its lights and sirens activated when it was a hit by a vehicle heading north on Morgan. The car collision caused the ambulance to hit to other vehicles in the automobile crash. As the investigation continues, no personal injury lawsuits have been filed. City pays $175,000 to settle lawsuit filed after fire truck crash

A personal injury lawsuit filed after former firefighter crashed a fire truck has been settled for $175,000. The former firefighter who caused the fire truck crash tested positive for cocaine an hour and fifteen minutes after the crash. The settlement was approved by a city council.

Family of Bus Crash Victim Receives Settlement

The family of an 11 year old boy killed in a church bus wreck earlier this year has reached a $450,000 settlement with the insurance companies who represent the driver of the bus. The young boy died from injuries he sustained after the bus rolled down an enbankment and crashed into a tree. The bus driver was cited for driving too fast for the wintry conditions on the highway. A recent truck accident raises some important questions. Truck drivers driver massive vehicles in and out of traffic daily and sometimes even carry extremely hazardous materials. The question raised asked do truck drivers receive enough training time? A 2007 Chicago Tribune article highlighted that there were thousands of drivers who obtained their licenses under suspicious circumstances.

SUV Strikes School Bus

An SUV struck a school bus in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park. At this time no serious personal injuries have been reported. The crash occurred at the intersection of 179th Street and Southwest Highway. Two fire trucks and three ambulances responded to the truck accident. The condition of the SUV driver, who reportedly drove into the side of the school bus, is unknown. The paramedics attended to students who were on the bus, who suffered non-life threatening personal injuries. The age range of the students who sustained the personal injuries is not yet known. Woman Personally Injured in Truck Accident

A woman was seriously injured when her car collided with a gravel truck in Mundelein, Illinois. The truck accident occurred at Route 83 and Hawley Street. Fire crews called a helicopter, which took the driver of the car to the hospital with personal injuries. The driver’s exact condition and personal injuries were not yet known, but the driver was seriously injured in the truck accident. No one else was personally injured in the truck accident. Trucker Killed When Trailer Collapses

A 50-year-old truck driver died Monday after he was crushed in Midlothian, Illinois by a trailer carrying 70,000 pounds of rocks. The Illinois truck driver was pronounced dead approximately 5 hours after the truck accident. He was crushed by part of his truck at T.H. Davidson & Co., a concrete delivery company located at 3932 W. 149th St. in Midlothian, Illinois. The victim was at the concrete lot unloading thousands of pounds of rocks at the time of the accident. The truck was parked, and he was seated in the driver’s seat when the trailer part of his truck collapsed in the unfortunate truck accident. The cause of the collapse is still unclear, but police do not suspect foul play. The trailer may have collapsed because the hydraulics gave out or the load was unbalanced. Fire officials did try to rescue the victim, but he died from the personal injuries sustained in the truck accident. At this time, no wrongful death lawsuits have been filed. 7 Injured When Fire Truck Catches Fire After Crash

At least five firefighters, a woman and a child were personally injured on the Near North Side of Chicago when a car and a fire truck collided at the intersection of Division and Wells Streets. The fire truck caught fire after the truck accident. Five firefighters and the woman were taken to the hospital with personal injuries. The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital with personal injuries. None of the personal injuries were life-threatening. The crash caused the fire truck to slam into a condominium complex. Division Street was closed in both directions while a tow truck and at least six emergency vehicles attended to the injured and the debris from the truck accident. Distracted Truck Driver Causes Accident, Deaths of 2 Children

Two children, aged 2 and 5, were killed and two more severely injured in a Texas truck accident caused in part by a distracted truck driver. The truck driver lost control while reaching for a cigarette, causing the 18-wheeler loaded with frozen chickens to flip. Moments later, a car carrying six passengers crashed into the overturned truck. A two-year-old and a five-year-old died at the scene and a one-year-old and fourteen-year-old were airlifted to an Austin, Texas hospital with serious injuries.
