Truck Accident Results in Fuel Leak, Shuts Down Road

On March 30, two tractor trailers were involved in an accident. No injuries were reported, but the truck accident did shut down a road for some time while hazmat teams were called in to clean up a fuel spill. The trucks were traveling in the same direction when one of the trucks carrying a fuel tank attempted to turn right into the path of the second truck. Man Killed After Being Struck by Truck in Southern Illinois

A man was killed in the early morning of March 28 in Carrollton, IL after being struck by tractor trailer carrying anhydrous ammonia. The truck accident occurred on a curvy stretch of road and truck was severely damaged as a result. The truck driver did not suffer any injuries. According to the report, Illinois State Police are still investigating the crash to determine the exact cause of the accident. Jogger Dies After Being Hit By Truck

A 61-year-old jogger was killed as he was attempting to cross a roadway in the early morning hours of March 26. The man was struck by a truck that was turning north onto the road. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from accident-related injuries. There was no mention of the truck driver in the article or if drugs or alcohol played a role in the truck accident. Truck Driver Killed in Tractor Trailer Accident

On March 24, a truck driver was killed in a trucking accident. According to the report, the truck driver who passed away was not wearing his seat belt. Jury Awards over $23 Million to Victims of Tractor Trailer Accident

A jury in Will County, IL recently awarded the victims of a trucking accident more than $23 million. The victims of the accident brought the lawsuit against the driver of a truck hauling potatoes and the trucking company.

The accident, which occurred in Joliet, IL, was caused when the defendant driver’s tractor trailer collided with the first victim’s car as it slowed for an unrelated accident. This caused a chain-reaction crash involving two more tractor trailer trucks and three cares. The truck accident left two people dead and five others injured. According to the report, the truck driver was cited for false entries in her log book and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Man ejected from car after crash hit by truck

A truck accident has recently claimed the life of a 24-year-old man. The man had been thrown from his Toyota sedan after a car crash and was lying injured in the road when a tractor-trailer hit the man, claiming his life. Truck driver and others jailed after fatal truck accident

A recent truck accident, involving five vehicles and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer headed to Chicago, has left one man dead and three others in jail. Three men, including the truck’s driver, owner, and the garage owner who allegedly sold an inspection sticker for the truck without inspecting it, have been charged with vehicular homicide. The truck had been given several warnings about the quality and safety of its breaks during regular inspections by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration along its route. The owner, however, pressed the driver to continue on. It is unknown whether a civil wrongful death lawsuit has been filed.

Truck accident leaves 11 tourists dead and many more injured

A truck accident between a tractor-trailer and a tour bus has killed 11 people and injured 16. The truck driver, who lost control of his tractor-trailer and collided with a bus coming in the opposite direction, was reportedly intoxicated and will be charged with involuntary homicide. The tour bus was operated by Viva Mexico Tours, a company based in Texas. The accident left 7 Americans dead and 9 injured. One dead and two injured after interstate truck crash

A collision between a tractor-trailer and a car has caused the death of one woman and injuries to a man and a child. The truck accident occurred when the woman’s car crossed the median and crashed into the truck. The woman, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, died in the hours following the crash, while the two passengers are being treated in the hospital. Woman dead after train headed to Chicago collides with truck

An Amtrak train travelling from St. Louis to Chicago struck and killed a woman in her pickup truck in Hartford, Illinois recently. The 31-year-old train crash victim was pregnant with her second child, said the Coroner’s Office of Madison County, Illinois. Witnesses who saw the truck accident said that the train did not sound its horn and was not able to reach a complete stop until it was about one mile past the intersection. Tractor Trailer Driver Injured in Truck Accident

The driver of a tractor trailer involved in an early-evening trucking accident suffered serious personal injuries. The truck driver was taken to the hospital after the accident for treatment. According to reports, the tractor trailer collided with a pick-up truck, causing both vehicles to overturn. The person driving the pick-up truck suffered no serious injuries; however emergency personnel had to pull the semi-driver from his vehicle after the accident. He evacuated from the scene of the truck accident by helicopter. The highway was shut down in order to land the helicopter and remained closed for several hours after the accident. Overturned Tractor Trailer During Rush Causes Road Closure, Minor Injuries

A trucking accident left a busy highway jammed on after a tractor trailer overturned in the middle of rush-hour traffic. The tractor trailer was carrying steel and officials were forced to shut down the highway for four and a half hours in order to clean up the mess. There was no indication of what caused the trucking accident. When the truck overturned, the driver was momentarily trapped and was taken to a local hospital. Back-to-Back Truck Accidents Lead to Multiple Injuries

Two accidents involving five vehicles- two tractor trailers, two cars and an SUV- occurred within minutes of each other. The truck accidents led to multiple personal injuries and four people were taken to the hospital. The first accident occurred when a car and tractor trailer collided. This resulted in a back-up of cars and trucks and another accident occurred shortly after involving three more vehicles.

The driver of the car in the first accident was suspected of driving under the influence and was arrested. He, along with several other people, suffered injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Several lanes of the highway were blocked following the truck accidents.

Tractor Trailer and Tour Bus Collide

A tour bus collided with a tractor trailer on March 6 after the tour bus changed lanes and clipped the truck. Fortunately, none of the 48 passengers on board the bus were seriously injured. Authorities credit the cable barriers that divide the east and westbound lanes of the highway with potentially saving lives. The truck accident could have been a lot worse if the vehicles had traveled into oncoming traffic.

As traffic backed up shortly after the accident occurred, another truck accident took place. A pick-up truck slammed into a tractor trailer truck whose driver had stopped to help direct traffic. The driver of the pick-up truck suffered injuries.
