Worshipers at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Chicago mourned two longtime parishioners always looking to volunteer after they were killed when their car crashed into a semi-truck. The truck accident also personally injured two other parishioners, ages 70 and 75. Police said that their car most likely hit an icy patch in southern DeKalb, Illinois, lost control and drove onto oncoming traffic in the truck accident. The truck’s driver tried to avoid hitting the car but since the roads were snow-covered and icy he could not avoid the automobile accident. The two women are currently in serious and critical condition with personal injuries at the hospital. The two others were pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, no wrongful death lawsuits have been filed. To read the full story, click here.
