Cell phone usage has proven to be a very dangerous distraction to drivers and it is important to be aware of just how distracting phones can be while on the road. Many states have made it illegal to talk on the phone while driving unless you are using some type of hands-free system and recently many states are also making it illegal to send or read text messages while driving. The city of Chicago currently has banned talking on cell phones while driving as well as texting while driving. This is an important step to take in cutting down on the number of unnecessary traffic accidents caused by distracted drivers.
