Chicago Firefighter Stops Runaway Car

A Chicago firefighter stopped an SUV with three children inside that had taken off after being slammed into by a truck on August 15th. The reason that the SUV took off following the truck accident was because the crash jammed the driver’s foot against the pedal. The Chicago firefighter jumped out of his fire truck and ran after the SUV, eventually catching up and then was able to pull the emergency brake which slowed the car down. The driver was listed in critical condition following the truck accident and the three kids are listed in serious condition, but luckily they were all wearing their seatbelts which probably saved their lives. The driver of the truck has been cited for failure to stop at a red light. For more information on this truck accident, click here.
