Man Extricated Following Illinois Trucking Crash

Another truck crash struck yesterday according to reports by the Tribune Local. The accident occurred at the intersection of Routes 41 and 21 in suburban Gurnee.

According to police reports, a 19-year old male driver was traveling in a Cadillac as he came upon the intersection. For reasons yet unknown, the driver failed to stop at the red light in front of him. As a result his car barreled dangerously through the intersection, hitting a large semi-tractor trailer that was traveling through it.

The Cadillac became wedged into the semi. It took rescue crews almost a half an hour to extricate the injured car driver from his vehicle. The man suffered a broken leg, but is fortunate not to have any life-threatening injuries. The Chicago truck driver was not injured in the accident.

The semi involved in this Illinois truck crash was carrying lithium at the time of the incident. In another stroke of luck, the hazardous material was not exposed in any way that posed a risk of contamination.
