Two people from Arcola, IL were taken to the hospital after being involved in an accident near Mansfield. The accident occurred as their Ford Taurus attempted to pass a semi-truck in the westbound lanes of the highway. The truck veered into the left lane, forcing the victim’s car off of the road, where it hit an embankment, flipped and slid into the eastbound lanes. The victims had to be cut out of their car and were taken to a local hospital. Neither was seriously injured and both were released.
