A Morton truck accident that occurred last week and injured 12 people, 4 of which were children, is believed to have been alcohol-related. According to the Pekin Times, the truck driver that caused the truck accident was driving very fast and passing cars while in a no-passing zone. The driver also had his driver’s license suspended for a previous DUI and following the truck accident his blood alcohol content was more than 3 times the legal limit in Illinois. The driver has been cited with a DUI, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license and at this point criminal charges have not yet been filed.
