Trucker Killed When Trailer Collapses

A 50-year-old truck driver died Monday after he was crushed in Midlothian, Illinois by a trailer carrying 70,000 pounds of rocks. The Illinois truck driver was pronounced dead approximately 5 hours after the truck accident. He was crushed by part of his truck at T.H. Davidson & Co., a concrete delivery company located at 3932 W. 149th St. in Midlothian, Illinois. The victim was at the concrete lot unloading thousands of pounds of rocks at the time of the accident. The truck was parked, and he was seated in the driver’s seat when the trailer part of his truck collapsed in the unfortunate truck accident. The cause of the collapse is still unclear, but police do not suspect foul play. The trailer may have collapsed because the hydraulics gave out or the load was unbalanced. Fire officials did try to rescue the victim, but he died from the personal injuries sustained in the truck accident. At this time, no wrongful death lawsuits have been filed.
