According to police reports, a semi tractor-trailer transporting a cargo of more than 30,000 pounds of fruit was traveling northbound on an interstate highway when the truck collided with a passenger vehicle traveling eastbound. Eye witnesses at the scene of this fatal collision stated that the passenger vehicle failed to make a complete stop before entering the intersection. Upon collision, the semi-tractor trailer burst into flames, causing the immediate death of the motor vehicle’s driver and passenger. Highway patrol released a statement saying that they believe alcohol may have played a factor in the devastating collision, but investigation is still pending awaiting the coroner’s report.
