A Chicago trucking accident that occurred in the morning of March 23rd left four people with personal injuries. According to The Chicago Sun Times, the accident occurred on the Dan Ryan Expressway near the South Side of Chicago when a semi truck rear-ended a car and then another semi struck the back of the first semi. Luckily, even though this accident caused a fire, none of the people injured suffered any burns. Four people to taken to local hospitals following the truck crash, but all are expected to fully recover.
In this truck crash both semi drivers were at fault, the first for rear-ending a car that was stopped because traffic had slowed and the second for following too closely. It is important for all drivers to pay attention to the road whenever they are behind the wheel, so if the traffic patterns change they have an appropriate amount of time to react, hopefully avoiding accidents. In this case both semi drivers were likely not paying close enough attention and were unable to react quickly enough to avoid hitting another vehicle.
